Honest Amish Beard Balm – Product Review

The Honest Amish brand has become quite a house hold name in the bearded community, and they have done very well at establishing a reputation for supplying top of the range grooming products made from 100% all natural ingredients.

When I found out that they were releasing a newer version of their regular balm, I couldn’t wait to test it out!

Product Name:

Honest Amish Heavy Duty Beard Balm

Product Type:

Beard Conditioner

Summary:

The greatest part about this balm is that it contains all the conditioning ingredients that will nourish your facial hair to give you the same moisture you would get from an oil. I also love how the thick butter make gives a thicker texture to hold down any stray hairs for hours.

Our Rating:

honest amish beard balm review

Honest Amish Heavy Duty Balm is the newest member of the Honest Amish beard balm line and like all of their other products, this is made with 100% natural ingredients.

But what’s the real difference between Honest Amish Regular and Honest Amish Heavy Duty? Basically, this product walks a very fine line between wax and balm, allowing you to have a bit more control when styling your whiskers than you would when using the regular product.

While it's not quite enough hold to be considered a wax, this hair care product uses a blend of oil and butters to give your man mane a more fuller, more natural look.

This heavy-duty balm also acts as a leave in conditioner to give some shine to the hair upon application and leaves your face feeling amazing for hours.

Ingredients

Honest Amish Heavy Duty beard balm is a propriety blend of 15 hair strengthening botanicals infused in a base of Argan, Golden Jojoba, virgin avocado, grape seed, virgin pumpkin seed, and apricot kernel oils.

It is then blended with fruit and nut butters such as Shea butter, aloe, cocoa, kokum and more.

I really like how Honest Amish are very big on using butters in their products giving them a more soft texture, which makes applying it very easy.

With a more buttery consistency this product gives a little more control than other standard ones and makes your facial hair feel so soft you will be playing with it all day long.

However it is important to remember that it is still a leave in conditioner, and not a replacement for a firmer balm or wax.

How Use Beard Balm

Applying this product is SUPER easy and involves just 3 simple steps that takes a matter of minutes to complete. Here’s a little run down of how to apply it:

  1. Moisten your facial hair with water, so that it is slightly damp before application of any product. This makes it easier for the balm to be spread evenly throughout your facial hair.
  2. Scoop a small amount (the size of a pea) from the tin and place it in the palm of your hand
  3. Rub together both hands, melting the balm into both hands.
  4. Softly run your hands through your hair, applying it evenly and in the same direction. Best place to start is from the root stroking through the product to the tip of your facial hairs.

You can do all this in minutes, and I usually do this process right after I shower on a daily basis. You can also take it one step further by using a comb after applying the balm in attempt to train your man mane to grow in the same direction. It is a great trick for those who grow unruly and messy facial hair.

Our Final Verdict

If you are looking for that perfect mix of a beard care product that has all the essential natural oils and butters that is going to thoroughly condition and nourish your hair, while also providing a light enough hold to tame those stray hairs, then this could be the product for you.

After a couple of days, I could feel the difference of the softness of my hair, and I could even feel that it moisturized my skin also.

I wouldn’t quite say that this is a good one for styling, as it only gives a very light hold, tidying the fly away hairs. If you are after something for styling or taming wild hair, I would recommend pairing up with some of the beard wax products made by Honest Amish as well.

I really enjoyed using this product though. It ticked all the boxes and it’s another winner for them.
